New interview clip in audio section

After a couple of weeks of asking around, I finally found someone who was contacted for the random phone survey that is being conducted by the MCK Social Development Unit. The interview can be found in the audio section.

According to an MCK press release, the goal of the survey is to “gather as much information as possible on community sentiment leading up to the Membership Hearings” that will take place using the Community Decision Making Process.

As I mentioned in a prior post, not enough people filled out the paper version of the survey so the phone survey was developed to get a cross-section of the community.

The interviewee I spoke with had not heard of the survey until she was contacted by phone. The survey was handed out at the September History of Membership meetings, is available online and was discussed in local media (Eastern Door, K103 and on tv) but did it miss people’s radar?

The survey is an exercise in the challenges of planning community outreach initiatives and providing access to information. Would making copies of the survey available at the post office or other public spaces have resulted in greater participation?
